Cusco (La Convención) Coffee
Coffee has grown in Cusco's La Convención valley since the 19th century, on terraced slopes descending from the Andes toward the Amazon within sight of the Machu Picchu range. Old Typica stock persists here more than almost anywhere in Peru, farmed by Quechua smallholder families.
The heritage genetics and high valleys yield a distinctly rich, sweet cup, and cooperative renovation programs are steadily raising processing standards while preserving the region's old-variety character.

Cusco (La Convención) — frequently asked questions
What makes Cusco coffee distinctive in Peru?
Unusually high shares of heritage Typica, grown in historic valleys — giving deeper body and dried-fruit sweetness than the brighter northern regions.
Is coffee grown near Machu Picchu?
Yes — La Convención's coffee valleys lie just beyond the sanctuary; some farms literally overlook the Urubamba canyon route to the ruins.
Volcana Coffee grows and exports specialty Arabica and Fine Robusta from our own region — the Bolaven Plateau in Laos — with SGS-inspected quality and full export documentation. Taste how our volcanic terroir compares.
