Espírito Santo Coffee

Espírito Santo is Brazil's second coffee state and the world's most advanced fine Robusta laboratory: its lowland Conilon farms — intensively managed, clonally selected, increasingly irrigated — have pushed canephora quality to levels that win international Fine Robusta recognition.

The state's mountainous interior tells a parallel Arabica story: the Caparaó highlands on the Minas border, farmed by smallholder families at up to 1,400 m, have become a Cup of Excellence regular. Few places demonstrate both species' potential so convincingly.

Espírito Santo — frequently asked questions

What is Conilon?

Brazil's name for its Robusta (Coffea canephora) population. Espírito Santo's technified Conilon sector produces some of the cleanest, sweetest Robusta cups in the world.

Does Espírito Santo grow specialty Arabica too?

Yes — the Caparaó mountain zone produces award-winning washed and natural Arabicas from smallholder farms, distinct from the lowland Conilon belt.

Volcana Coffee grows and exports specialty Arabica and Fine Robusta from our own region — the Bolaven Plateau in Laos — with SGS-inspected quality and full export documentation. Taste how our volcanic terroir compares.
